Pest Control Tips

IGRs Provide Long-Term Control Against Pests

As a pest control treatment option, insect growth regulators (IGRs) mark significant progress in the industry. IGRs can help provide long-term results by preventing reproduction among pests that escape adulticide knockdown treatments.

Active ingredients limit reinfestation.

The active ingredients in IGRs disrupt insects' normal growth processes. For example, (S)-Hydroprene, the active ingredient in Zoëcon's Gentrol® IGR Concentrate, prevents pests from maturing into breeding adults. Pests' inability to reproduce facilitates long-term control and stops the cycle of infestation.

Gentrol IGR has the unique ability to translocate to harborages and other areas that might have been missed during other treatments. Translocation allows the IGR to reach hard-to-treat areas like cracks and crevices.

Gentrol IGR is labeled for use in food handling establishments. It's also perfect for other accounts, such as nursing homes, hospitals and day care centers.

Tank mixing: a long-term strategy.

For long-term results, tank mixing has proven efficacy. A dilutable, such as Catalyst® Insecticide, provides immediate knockdown, while an insect growth regulator, such as Gentrol IGR Concentrate, inhibits reproduction. Together they provide long-term control of cockroach populations. For non-residential use only.

Gentrol Point Source® is another IGR option. It offers discreet delivery of the product without measuring, mixing or spraying. Cockroaches don't need to come in direct contact with the device for it to be effective. Lasting up to 90 days, it is ideal for areas where compressed air sprayers aren't a viable option.
